Another consignment sale by IslandShells323. Cypraea Cumingii Cleopatra 19.1mm VERY RARE BEAUTY from Tahiti. Found on a night dive by a diver in 60 feet of water, Tahiti. My mom, Ruth Fair, got to take two tours to Tahiti to go shell collecting with members of the Hawaiian Shell Club, and both times the folks there had such a good time, they didn't want to come back!

Yet my mom, realizing that I would never understand what it was like collecting there in Tahiti, solved the problem by simply taking a picture of what was under just one piece of coral, said coral being twenty feet from shore---under that small rock was more than a dozen different cowries! It was months before I could force myself to go shell collecting again after seeing that picture, huh! Anyhow, Tahiti is sort of like the Philippines, or the Solomons, or Australia, the places that shell collecting dreams are made of. Anyhow, as the photos show, this little GEM is a fabulous rare beauty from Tahiti.

Rarely found, and even more rarely offered, it too is the kind of dream shell that collections are made of, and is the kind of shell to look terrific on your shelf!
